What makes Don Grosh Custom Guitars so great? The answer really lies with Don and his crew. They have a deep understanding of what makes a guitar great. They have refined their art to perfection. All aspects of the build and design of the instruments has been obsessed over. They have stripped the art of lutherie down to it's fine essence. This attention to detail only allows for a very limited number of instruments to be constructed yearly. They are exclusive and desirable. Well worth it!

Woods and materials are carefully selected. They are selected for tone, resonance, weight and beauty. When you make limited numbers you can afford to be picky. All materials used are Master Grade. These precious materials are stored and seasoned until they are ready to become magic. These materials are then "Tap Tuned" and "Tap Matched". Necks are sonically matched with bodies that will wok together to produce great tone.

Don designs every guitar from the "ground up" as a unique "complete-in-itself" instrument. Don utilizes state-of-the-art building techniques, combined with the best tone woods available and a real lacquer finish (just like the old days!). All this adds up to an incredible looking, playing, sounding, and what some guitarists have exclaimed, an "acoustically alive" instrument. Click here for a factory tour of Don Grosh Custom Guitars!

Playability is a huge factor in both the tone produced and your physical connection with the instrument. Great care and attention to detail is used in the final assembly of each guitar. Frets are perfectly leveled, have rounded edges and are deeply polished. Each neck features a hand rolled fingerboard edge. This makes the neck feel broken-in and " Vintage" feeling right from the get go. Feels like an old friend! All guitars are completely set up and intonated, ready to take to a gig or recording session.

Necks are equipped with the Don Grosh exclusive truss rod. This double welded bar design is much more stable and stronger than standard truss rod design, and is about two times the weight.

This creates greater sustain and better tone transfer from neck to body, resulting in a much more alive sounding guitar.

Bridges are as follows: Vintage flat mount, Don Grosh Vintage Fulcrum Tremolo, and Floyd Rose. The Exclusive Don Grosh Fulcrum Tremolo is a modified Gotoh 1088 bridge. The Tremolo arm hole is fitted with a special nylon bushing to reduce arm slop and the knife edges have been reground and polished for increased tuning stability. With its bent metal saddles, this bridge is the best sounding vintage bridge of the batch.

Wood Selection • All wood is hand picked for tonal resonance, density/weight, appearance and moisture content. Then it is stored for at least 3 months. This assures that it has reached its most stable point  before processing and building begins

Electronics • From simple to high tech Grosh Guitars does it all. Custom switching, blend control, mid boost, midi synth , piezo pickups. DiMarzio, Lindy Fralin, and many other pickups are available.

All guitars are finished with Grosh Guitar's exclusive lacquer painting process, which minimizes thickness buildup and allows the guitar to breath.

This finish does not color or cover the tone of the wood and is durable enough to resist cracking and chipping. All finishes are hand rubbed to a high gloss.
