The all new Don Grosh Set Neck Model is a design Don had been working on for years. It takes the best aspects of classic Set Neck guitar designs and crosses it with Don's supreme sense of art, aesthetics, tone, playability and balance. It features Master Grade materials and build. Complete access to all frets. Superb balance both sitting and standing. This guitar is a Tone Monster! Utterly superb in every possible way. The bar for Set Neck Guitars has been raised.
The Retro Classic is Don's most popular and most famous guitar model. This is the guitar that raised the level of what a classic California style guitar could be. Often compared to and surpassing the finest vintage examples of this style, the Retro Classic is the ultimate working man's tone machine. Guitar Player called it " A superior choice. " and also said " It's doubtful you will find anything that plays or sounds better than the Grosh!"
The Bent Top Custom combines the features of the Retro Classic with a wider selection of materials. These guitars are topped with master grade flamed or quilt maple. The maple top is " Bent" over the arm contour, hence the name "Bent Top". These guitars are highly prized for their tone and gorgeous looks. They are available both front routed or rear routed. Front routing gives a traditional tone. We always stock Bent Top Customs!
The Flat Top Custom is a stunning guitar. Available with master grade maple tops or without, these guitars cross boundries with ease. Available in either 25-1/2" or 24-3/4" scale. Usually ordered either with dual humbuckers or dual P-90's, the Flat top is a cool LP meets Tele type vibe. Flat out a great Rock, Country or Blues guitar. Wicked cool!!
Hollow Carved Top Guitars are available in either a T shape or a S Shape. The master grade maple top is much thicker than a Bent Top so the maple has a more pronounced impact on the guitars tone. Usually combined with either mahogany or korina these guitars are simply stunning. The Hollow Body produces lush tone with round attack. The maple top is carved in a continuous radius like a LP. Sexy and curvy in all the right places!
The Don Grosh Custom Carved Top is the solidbody version of the Carved Top. Available in either S or T shape. These guitars are usually built with either a Mahogany body or a Korina ( Limba ) body. Mahogany produces a fat thick tone. Korina produces an amazing even extended bell like tone. The master grade maple top ads to the treble as well as looking stunning!
Don Grosh's Retro Classic VT is his take on the classic California T design. Don's shape has a sleaker, more refined feel. Don also includes a Rib Cut for more comfort. These guitars are usually Alder or Light Weight Swamp Ash for classic tone. Don prefers the Gotoh Vintage T bridge for it's classic tone and looks as well as intonation. Top it of with a set of Lindy Fralin Broadcaster Pickups and you have a Chicken Pickin' Dream Axe!
Don Grosh offers players looking for a great Nylon or Steel String solidbody acoustic the ultimate in tone and playability. Used by several high profile pro's for their great tone and ability to sound rich and real at high volumes. The standard pickup is by Fishman and can be combines with an active preamp / EQ system for total tonal control. Other electronics options are available.
